Producer Melinda Hall has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. She aims to raise $4,000 for the 6th Annual Shakespeare Sonnet Slam.
Hall and her team have been organizing this event for the past five years to celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday. This year’s performance will take place in New York City on April 22. We’ve embedded a video about the project above.
Here’s more about the project: “Join us for a day in Central Park to hear all 154 Shakespearean Sonnets aloud by 154 Readers of all ages. 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare but at our party, we celebrate his birthday which is thought to be around April 23rd since he was christened April 26, 1564. Now in our 6th year, we have succeeded only because of the generosity of those who love Shakespeare and want the Sonnet Slam to thrive.”
