Indie Book Publisher Harvey Weinstein Weds

Thirteen05.jpgFishbowlNY informs us of the Harvey Weinstein/Georgina Chapman wedding, passing along an account of the Westport nuptials from Fox411‘s Roger Friedman, including a lot of celebrities who have nothing to do with the book publishing business, “hundreds of thousands of dollars of gorgeous flowers, real flickering chandeliers and catering by both Cipriani and Nobu.” Also, when you’re Harvey Weinstein, you can hire the Gipsy Kings to play your wedding. I’m officially jealous.

Weinstein is the co-chairman of the Weinstein Company. He first got into book publishing with Miramax Books, which were distributed by Hyperion, the publishing wing of the Walt Disney Company. Earlier this year, after the agreement with Hyperion had run its course, Weinstein Books declared itself open for business with a launch party at BookExpo America; the first titles from the new imprint, including a short story collection from Vincent Lam, Padma Lakshmi‘s cookbook, and another parody novel from Chris Elliott, have recently begun arriving in bookstores.
