Hiromi Goto has signed a deal with First Second Books. She will write the story for her debut graphic novel, Shadow Life.
Goto sat for an interview with The Los Angeles Times and revealed that Shadow Life follows the adventures of a 76-year-old Japanese Canadian woman named Kumiko who “goes on the lam.” According to Goto’s blog post, the publication date has been set for 2018.
Calista Brill negotiated the deal with Sally Harding, the co-owner of the Cooke Agency. Celine Loup will create the illustrations for this project. (Photo Credit: Dana Putnam)
