HarperCollins Acquires Publishing Rights to Fantastic Beasts

HarperCollins has acquired the worldwide publishing rights for the adult tie-in books for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The publisher will release these books, in all languages, in the fall, to support the movie release in November. J.K. Rowling wrote the film script. The film is set in “the wizarding world of 1920s New York.”

HarperCollins titles give readers a behind-the-scenes look at how the films were made, including a look at the art and design of the sets, as well as interviews with the cast and crew. There will also be coloring and postcard books.

“For the first time we are able to seamlessly plan, coordinate and integrate book publication of film tie-in editions across multiple languages and markets with Warner Bros. Consumer Products in North America and internationally to ensure the widest possible readership and awareness of the books and the film,” stated Brian Murray, president and CEO of HarperCollins Worldwide.
