Amazon Self-Published Bestsellers for the Week of December 5, 2014

1. Gone – Part One by Deborah Bladon: “The first part of GONE, a three-part series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon. Sending a half-naked picture to a stranger she met online, seems innocent and fun to Lilly Randall. After spending the past four years working towards an honors degree, she needs a distraction and flirting with a man she doesn’t know can’t hurt, right?”

2. His Secretary: Undone by Melanie Marchande: “I’m about to throw an ashtray at my boss’s head. Turns out, the mind behind my favorite, steamy romance novels…the ones I only read in private…the ones that are my only escape after a long day of dealing with The Boss From Hell? It’s not Natalie McBride, the sweet, rural housewife. It’s him.”

3. Beneath Him by Komal Kant: “Sometimes love can start with a little hate. When Sky Hudson first has a run-in with tall, dark, and handsome Nicholas Ruggarson, she wants nothing more than to throw her coffee at him. He is rude and arrogant, and she is glad she never has to set eyes on him ever again. Or so she thinks.”

4. Christmas Brides by Cheryl Bolen: “To grant her dying father his last Christmas wish, Miss Annabelle Pemberton proposes marriage to her father’s former ward, the rakish viscount Lord William de Vere. How painful it will be, though, to be trapped in a marriage of convenience with the only man she has ever loved.”

5. Rae of Sunshine by Micalea Smeltzer: “What I remember the most about that day was that it was completely ordinary. Then with one stupid decision everything fell apart and nothing was ever the same. Rae Wilder wants nothing but a do over—but life doesn’t work that way. She’s stuck living out the consequences of her actions. At times the burden feels unbearable. College is supposed to be her second chance.”

6.Roomies by Lindy Zart: “Graham Malone is my roommate, my personal eye candy, the reason I get up in the morning smiling (that could be from the illicit dreams I have about him too, I suppose. Let’s move on.). He’s also beautiful to look at, but his heart is where his true beauty lies. Take away the exterior and the interior still shines.”

7. Affliction: Knights Rebels MC by River Savage: “Three little words are all it takes to rip his world apart. Lost in his own affliction, Sy has been living in a darkness he doesn’t want to let go of. Until she arrives and shines her light so bright that nothing else mattered. She was only in it for the chase, for the thrill of capturing the unattainable. But what happens when her world shatters around her, spiraling her into the darkness beside him?”

8. Ignite: A Devil Chaser’s MC Romance by L Wilder: “Ignite; ignites; ignited; igniting
1. To set (something) on fire: to cause (something) to burn
2. To give life or energy to (someone or something)
b. To cause the sudden occurrence of (something)”

9. The Forever Gate Compendium Edition by Isaac Hooke: “I can’t say the tiniest thing about the plot without giving away the surprises, and the fun of this book rests largely on those surprises. I can vouch that I was taken off guard over and over again. The big reveal involving Hoodwink? Hats off to any reader who saw that coming. Hooke doesn’t cheat on his withholds, though. He cunningly switches points of view so that we’re usually in the head of the one character who has the least idea what’s really going on.”

10. Out of Line by Jen McLaughlin: “Desperate to break free… I’ve spent my entire life under my father’s thumb, but now I’m finally free to make my own choices. When my roommate dragged me to my first college party, I met Finn Coram and my life turned inside out. He knows how to break the rules and is everything I never knew I wanted. A Marine by day and surfer by night, he pushes me away even as our attraction brings us closer. Now I am finally free to do whatever I want. I know what I want. I choose Finn.
