Gillian Anderson (pictured, via) has landed the role of Media on the American Gods TV series. Deadline reports that Anderson’s character serves as a public relations and sales representative for the New Gods.
Here’s more from Variety: “She lives off the attention and worship that people give to screens — to their laptops, their TVs, to their iPhones in their hands while they watch their TVs. Ever the perky spokesperson, and always in control, she spins stories in whatever direction best suits her.”
Earlier this year, Starz announced several castings: Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, and Emily Browning as Laura Moon. The story for this television adaptation will be based on Neil Gaiman’s popular fantasy novel. Gaiman himself will serve as both an executive producer and a screenwriter. (via Entertainment Weekly)
