Farrar, Straus and Giroux has partnered with sister publication Scientific American to get into the iPad app business. The two have teamed up to release a new interactive iPad app all about the exoplanets.
eBookNewser has more: “The app called, Journey to the Exoplanets, is an in-depth look at the solar system. It is also the first from a new imprint from the sister publications. Digital agency Brandwidth developed the app.”
The app includes images by illustrator Ron Miller, original text from Scientific American Art Contributor Ed Bell with essays and audio clips from planetary experts. It also includes a foreword and video from Mariette DiChristina, the Editor-in-Chief of Scientific American. The above video demonstrates the app. The app will be available in iTunes beginning tomorrow for $9.99.
