Free iPhone 4 Bumper Case for Apple Customers

By Jason Boog

At a press conference today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said the company has shipped 3 million iPhone 4s since the smartphone debuted and dismissed what he called “Antennagate”–allegations of reception problems that have plagued the device. According to the CEO, .55 percent of iPhone 4 customers “have called about the antenna or reception.”

eBookNewser has more: “Apple is giving away free bumpers to iPhone 4 owners and is offering a new iOS 4.0.1 free software update to help solve antenna algorithm issues. While Apple is taking a customer friendly approach, Jobs didn’t accept all of the blame. He blamed ‘Antennagate’ on media hype and physics. In a press conference today, the Apple chief pointed out that despite bad reviews, .55 percent of iPhone 4 customers “have called about the antenna or reception.”

Singer and songwriter Jonathan Mann got some amazing press at the conference as Apple played his song to start the presentation. His song climaxes with these words: “If you don’t want an iPhone 4, don’t buy it. If you bought one and you don’t like it, bring it back.”
