Franklin D. Roosevelt Fever

9780809044412.jpgBarack Obama can sell books. Yesterday, he admitted to reading two books about Franklin D. Roosevelt, sparking a major run at the bookstore.

Obama had been reading, appropriately enough: The Defining Moment: F D R’s Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope by Jonathan Alter and F D R by Jean Edward Smith. Even the books that Obama wasn’t reading got reprinted:

“Hill & Wang, an imprint of Farrar, Straus & Giroux, which originally printed fewer than 5,000 copies of [Anthony J. Badger’s] “F D R: The First Hundred Days” in June and received scant review coverage in the United States, decided to reprint 5,000 copies on Monday morning, partly in response to orders from booksellers.”

GalleyCat has one more book to add to the list, a personal memoir by F.D.R.’s grandson, Curtis Roosevelt–Too Close To the Sun. We wrote about that book yesterday, hours before it was fashionable to write about F.D.R. books. Any other books to put on our President-elect’s bookself?
