Fine Books & Collections Magazine Revives Print Edition

finebooks.jpgIn this digitally obsessed publishing culture, one rare book collecting magazine is taking a unique step. After suspending print publication in 2008, Fine Books & Collections magazine will resume producing a quarterly print edition.

The print cycle resumes April 2010. The online-only magazine published a special print edition last Fall, and was cheered by the results. The new subscription price is set at $25. The magazine will still support its monthly e-letter online and its blog–the site now counts 50,000 monthly visitors.

Associate publisher Kim Draper had this statement, complete with a philosophical question about her audience: “We don’t hope to achieve as much readership in print, but we do think print has a certain charm and value that is impossible to obtain online … It remains a conundrum why collectors of print love reading online, but we are delighted to be able to serve both needs.”
