A fluke day in the Career Development office, lead to Korean-American agent, Kirby Kim’s path to agenting. Bored with law school, he saw a binder with a few non-legal career alternatives and “liked the idea of pointing at a book and saying I had a part in that, as opposed to quoting a settlement figure.”

Over the course of 5 years, Kim sharpened his agenting chops first as an assistant at Charlotte Sheedy Literary Agency, then at Vigliano Associates. Presently, he is happily employed at Endeavor.

Since landing at Endeavor in September of last year, Kim has been actively building his list, one that includes a YA series for Roaring Brook, and a memoir for comedian David Alan Grier. Currently he is seeking narrative non-fiction, memoir, adult and children’s fiction.

Noted as an exceptional agent that happens to be Korean, Kim understands that he is one of the privileged few Asian-American agents in the business. “I do feel fortunate,” Kim says, “I’ve been very lucky and there have been a lot of great mentors throughout and people that believed in me … that helped.”
