In November, Douglas Rushkoff will publish his latest title, Program or be Programmed: Ten Commands for a Digital Age, with OR Books. The nonfiction book will feature artwork by artist Leland Purvis. His illustration entitled “Identity” is pictured above.

The publisher promises “a friendly little book with a big and actionable message.” The book will warn readers that refusing to adapt in a post-internet world is unwise. The book asks, “do we direct technology, or do we let ourselves be directed by it and those who have mastered it?”

Rushkoff is a journalist, 12-time published author, documentary filmmaker, and college media professor. He has appeared on NPR radio and The Colbert Report. Purvis is a comic book artist and writer. He created two popular graphic novel series, Vox and Pubo.
