The brand new DC Comics iPad app is shooting up the App Store charts. Over at eBookNewser, we’ve been tracking App Store ratings, where the iBooks app is the most popular free iPad app–topping both Netflix and Google Earth.
Nevertheless, as of this 4:00 pm EST writing, the DC Comics app is ranked #11 out of all free iPad apps. Amazon Kindle for the iPad is ranked #13 among free apps, and the Borders eBooks app is ranked #18. Barnes and Noble for the iPad comes in at #34. Interestingly enough, the Marvel Comics app is currently ranked #65 out of all the free iPad apps.
As we reported today, DC Comics has finally entered the digital comics marketplace, partnering with comiXology and PlayStationNetwork in two distribution deals.
