The Girl in The Spider's WebWhat do we know about Stieg Larsson’s successor? According to DeadlineDavid Lagercrantz, the author behind the recently released Millennium series book, did not consult “the partial manuscript for a fourth book that the author’s partner, Eva Gabrielsson, reportedly found in his computer.”

For The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Lagercrantz’s writing process began with Larsson’s original trilogy. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he explained that he re-read the first three Lisbeth Salander novels and took copious notes.

Lagercrantz revealed that he’s “kind of a Larsson nerd, so I found lots of threads that I’m sure he would have developed. Then, of course, there are questions about the mythology of Lisbeth Salander. She’s such an extraordinary character. Her childhood: her evil father beating and raping her mother, Lisbeth fighting back. There are so many questions we haven’t had an answer for yet. Why is she such a good hacker, for example? Things like that.” (via The BookBub Blog)
