By Maryann Yin

candlewickThe executives at Candlewick Press will launch a new imprint called Candlewick Studio. The focus behind this new venture will be to produce and publish magnificent, design-driven, children’s books.

Publication for the four titles on the inaugural list has been scheduled for Fall 2016. The debut books include Animals: A Stylish Big Picture Book For All Ages by Ingela P. Arrhenius, A Personal Selection of Vintage Cameras and the Photographs That They Take by David Ellwand, Give and Take by Lucie Félix, and An Artist’s Alphabet by Norman Messenger.

Here’s more from the press release: “Candlewick Studio will be launched simultaneously with Walker Studio in the UK, an imprint of Walker Books Ltd., Candlewick’s parent company. The imprint will feature authors and illustrators who have appeared on Candlewick’s list in the past, as well as debut artists from around the world. While the US and UK lists will share some of the same titles, they will also be allowed to diverge by market as appropriate. Both imprints will be carried by Walker Books Australia. It is also an aspiration of the company to find the best books published in other languages and bring them into English translation via the group’s imprints.”
