Build A Book App With TheAppBuilder

By Dianna Dilworth

Tech company JamPot has a new tool for building apps called TheAppBuilder that lets publishers use the web to build an iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows app.

Follow this link to see JamPot’s Vimeo page with demos on how to build the various apps. Publishers can add basic presets such as a news feed, a photo gallery or links to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

eBookNewser has more: “Once you have custom made your app, the app will send a prototype to your phone so you can test is out before you approve it. You can even use the tool to enter it into the various app markets including iTunes and the Android Market.” The basic service is free, but their are two pay options which involve more functions.

Fast Company spoke with Matthew David, VP of Sales, at JamPot: “The app you download is effectively a ‘shell’ app that contains a goodly chunk of code and a unique ID–when you run it, the ID is whisked off to cloud servers and the relevant running code that you designed is sent to your phone.”
