A little more than a week after the death of Johnny Hart, we’re saddened to find ourselves reporting on the death of Brant Parker, Hart’s longtime collaborator on the newspaper strip The Wizard of Id. A Los Angeles Times obituary has several quotes from a 1986 interview, in which Parker described how he drew the art to accompany Hart’s scripted gags: “The trick is to find two people who are basically alike…. We both enjoy the same kind of humor so it’s been a great relationship.”
