Bookstore at the End of the World

By Jason Boog

The trailer embedded above introduces the short film, Alexandria–the story of three men trapped in a bookstore as civilization collapses.

While we haven’t seen the short, we wholeheartedly endorse the idea of a post-apocalyptic bookstore film. Perhaps they can screen the film alongside the classic book-obsessed Twilight Zone episode, “Time Enough at Last.”

Check it out: “In the distant future, a bottle is found deep inside the rainforests of Southeast Asia. Its contents unlock the secret of what happened to three men in a bookstore at the end of civilization, and their attempt to live on. This is the trailer to the short film, ‘Alexandria’ which premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin Texas, 2009. It also screened at the Palm Springs International Shortfest, and the next screening is at the Salt Lake City International Film Festival in July, and the Seattle One Reel Film Festival in September.” (Via io9)
