Bookslut Is Shutting Down

By Dianna Dilworth

Book blog Bookslut, which turns 14 in May, is shutting down.

Founder and editor in chief Jessica Crispin revealed the news on the blog  today: “It’s a little scary to say: the May issue will be our last issue. I’ve decided to cease publication of Bookslut.”

The publication has published 161 issues which feature author interviews, book reviews and columns. Here is more about the closure from Crispin’s blog:

We’ll be having a wake for our dear little slut, May 6, at Melville House in Brooklyn. It’s fitting that we’re ending things there, because Dennis and Valerie have been my absolute loudest supporters and allies since the very beginning, and Moby Lives was the one that started it all.

You can still read past issues as the “archives will remain up until the apocalypse comes.” (Via Sarah Weinman).
