We’ve collected the books debuting on Indiebound’s Indie Bestseller List for the week ending September 02, 2012. Reported by independent booksellers around the country, the list gives you a peek at the books everybody will be talking about next month.

(Debuted at #1 in Children’s Illustrated) Olivia and the Fairy Princesses by Ian Falconer: “Olivia is having an identity crisis! There are too many ruffly, sparkly princesses around these days, and Olivia has had quite enough. She needs to stand out! She has to be special! She wants to do more than just fit in! So what will she be?” (August 2012)

(Debuted at #2 in Hardcover Fiction) The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny: “No outsiders are ever admitted to the monastery of Saint-Gilbert-Entre-les-Loups, hidden deep in the wilderness of Quebec, where two dozen cloistered monks live in peace and prayer. They grow vegetables, they tend chickens, they make chocolate. And they sing. Ironically, for a community that has taken a vow of silence, the monks have become world-famous for their glorious voices, raised in ancient chants whose effect on both singer and listener is so profound it is known as ‘the beautiful mystery.'” (August 2012)

(Debuted at #15 in Children’s Interest) Lincoln’s Last Days by Bill O’Reilly & Dwight Jon Zimmerman: “In the spring of 1865, President Abraham Lincoln travels through Washington, D.C., after finally winning America’s bloody Civil War. In the midst of celebrations, Lincoln is assassinated at Ford’s Theatre by a famous actor named John Wilkes Booth. What follows is a thrilling chase, ending with a fiery shoot-out and swift justice for the perpetrators.” (August 2012)
