beaconlogo.gifNext week Beacon Press will launch a new series with the help of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Estate–a new program called the King Legacy.

Publishers Weekly reports that the new program will be announced at a press conference in the press’ Boston offices on Wednesday, May 27. The event will feature Beacon Press director Helene Atwan, Unitarian Universalist Association president Bill Sinkford, former Civil Rights Commission chair Mary Frances Berry.

Here’s more from the article: “The agreement will link the MLK Estate and Beacon Press, a publisher long identified with both the Civil Rights Movement and social justice activism, in a publishing partnership focused on King and his social, cultural and political impact.”
