bayareabookfestBay Area Book Festival has created an IndieGogo campaign to help raise $50,000 to support its inaugural event in June.

Earlier this year, Cherilyn Parsons, the former director of development and strategic initiatives at the Center for Investigative Reporting, revealed plans to launch the book festival in the San Francisco Bay Area. The festival’s program will have a wide scope with 150 authors from across genres invited. The festival will take place in the Berkeley, CA June 6-7. The festival planners are hoping that 100,000 people will attend.

The Indiegogo campaign is intended to help the event planners raise the funds to pull off this festival. Check it out:

Your tax-deductible contribution will help us pay the hard costs and logistics of bringing 150 authors to the festival and mounting the physical event. We have an extraordinary team that has taken on this big task. You’ll help support this team, most of whom are matching your support by charging a fraction of what they would be paid elsewhere.
