Banned Books Trading Cards

By Dianna Dilworth

The Chapel Hill Public Library has created a new pack of banned books trading cards.

The library makes a new series every year to commemorate Banned Books Week, which takes place every year in September. The trading cards are designed by local artists and are done thanks to a partnership between CHPL and the Chapel Hill Division of Cultural Arts. Judges review submissions and select the best of the year. This year includes cards for Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, The Awakening by Kate Chopin and Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson, among others. Here is more from the site:

For $5.00 (plus $2.95 shipping) you can collect past sets of limited edition Banned Books Trading Cards. Your purchase supports the project, enabling us to encourage local art and the freedom to read. Use the form below and we will have the cards sent directly to you.
