Asian-American Activists Have Launched a Letter Writing Project

By Maryann Yin

A group of Asian-Americans gathered together and launched a crowdsourced letter-writing project on July 7. Salon reports that these activists wanted to show support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

According to a Facebook post from the organization, the mission behind “Letters For Black Lives” was to create “a framework for discussing issues of anti-Blackness and police violence with their immigrant parents.” The video embedded above features a recitation of the “Inaugural ENG Letter.”

Thus far, over 200 contributors have taken part in this project. The letter has been translated into 30 different languages. Click here to read the full text of the English-language edition of this letter. (via The Huffington Post)
