Your suggestions about writers attractive enough to appear in fashion magazines keep coming in, and though I suspect many of you have forgotten the age restrictions from the original solicitation, we’re not as uptight about over-35s as the folks at Lucky, so here goes…

Dan Brown says Brad Thor is “as current as tomorrow’s headlines,” which could be rather bad news, considering that his latest novel, Takedown, is about a terrorist attack on a holiday weekend that destroys every bridge and tunnel around Manhattan (quick, alert Bruce Schneier!). Rebecca Meacham’s short story collection, Let’s Do, was actually published back in 2004, but we’re going to keep her on the list; I think it might be the most prize-winningest book in the bunch! The woman who nominated science-fiction writer China Miéville couldn’t believe nobody else had beaten her to it, but maybe you’re a little intimidated by that hot bad-boy look he’s got going (still think sci-fi’s just for nerds, girls?). Malena Lott makes a bit for “mommy lit” stardom with The Stork Reality, and then there’s Josh Kilmer-Purcell, who’s not only a cute boy but one hell of a Bond(age) girl, too.

Oh, and a last-minute search through our cluttered inbox leads to an honorary mention for Tim Lemire, who assures us, “My wife thinks I’m cute.” Since I’d be using exactly the same rationale if my co-proprietorship of the column disqualifies me from appearing on the list, I’m going to let it slip in…
