Annalee Newitz has signed a two-book deal with Tor Books. She has become well-known as the co-founder of io9 and the author of three books.
Liz Gorinsky, an editor, negotiated the deal with Laurie Fox of the Linda Chester Literary Agency. For the first book, Newitz will write a science-fiction dystopian novel entitled Autonomous.
According to Tor.com, the story “explores a future in which robots are granted autonomy after 10 years of service, and humans can own other humans.” At this point in time, no publication date has been announced. (via Boing Boing)
