Before taking the publisher spot, Schmidt had served as executive editor at DK, publishing cookbooks like the James Beard Award-nominee “Morimoto” and Nick Malgieri’s “The Modern Baker.” Schmidt had also worked at Simon & Schuster and HarperCollins.

Here’s more from the release: “Kyle Books’ stable of authors includes “Richard Bertinet, whose first book DOUGH was the winner of the IACP Best Cookbook of the Year and a James Beard Foundation Award; Allegra McEvedy, winner of an IACP Award in the Chefs and Restaurants category; and Camellia Panjabi, author of the million+ selling 50 GREAT CURRIES OF INDIA.”
