Stephen King It (GalleyCat)Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Andres Muschietti to serve as the director for It. The story for this two-part remake comes from Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel.

Here’s more from Variety: “The original King novel followed seven children known as The Losers Club who come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise. The idea is to have two films, one focused on the children and the other focusing on them as adults when they come back to their hometown to face the monster again.”

According to Collider, Cary Fukanaga was originally supposed to take the helm of this movie adaptation. Fukanaga decided to exit the project due to creative differences with the studio. The theatrical release date has been set for September 18, 2017. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
