Andre Bernard exits Harcourt

PW Daily’s Rachel Deahl reports that Andre Bernard, who spent the last decade as vice president and publisher of Harcourt, is stepping down. Effective next week, he’ll be working for the Guggenheim Foundation (which provides fellowships to professionals in a variety of fields) as its vice president, where he “will continue to contribute talent and, now, treasure, to writers, photographers, and others in the world of the creative arts,” as a statement released by the company this afternoon states.

Stepping into Bernard’s vacated spot will be Harcourt’s current editor-in-chief and associate publisher, Rebecca Saletan. No word yet on whether Harcourt will look to fill Saletan’s job.
