Amazon Picks Up 110 Million More Used Books

paidContent.org is reporting that Amazon.com has bought the online used book resource AbeBooks.com, ;which is not precisely an online bookstore, but rather a “marketplace” where independent booksellers can exhibit their wares. It has become a popular resource for used, rare and out-of-print books—just as Amazon itself has allowed other vendors to sell books of that sort through links on its main catalog pages.

According to the deal announcement, however, AbeBooks will continue to function as a standalone site.
