A Question in Lieu of a Fall Books Preview

By Neal

As this year’s fall book previews from the mainstream media all seem to agree that Michael Moore‘s guide to the election will be significant, and likewise that sophisticated fiction readers will want to get their mitts on copies of the new novels from John Updike, Marilynne Robinson, and the late Roberto Bolaño—none of which is by any means incorrect—one wonders: Has anybody put together a list of the potential sleepers that retailers and book review editors haven’t seen coming?

If they have, feel free to post the URL; if they haven’t, any ideas about what should be on that list?
