A Fresh Blend of Book Trailers to Start the Week

By Neal

What is it about Seth Godin‘s Meatball Sundae that gets the online video crowd’s creative juices flowing? Back in January, I showed you Jackie Huba dining on the real thing, and in this new installment of the popular Will It Blend? series, Tom Dickson takes the ingredients and throws them in a blender… and then Godin takes over and, well, see for yourself.

This is probably a good time to catch up with some more previous book trailer subjects, and see if they’ve got anything new to show us…

Lewis Black wants you to know how hard it was for him to write Me of Little Faith:

No, it’s not quite as funny as him ranting about current events, is it? Too bad this was shot before the Love and Consequences hoax was exposed—imagine how much fun Black would have had with that. Oh, wait, he’s published by Riverhead, too. So I’m guessing we shouldn’t look for that video any time soon.

Remember N.M. Kelby‘s promotional video, which I thought could have used more of her in front of the camera (because I know her well enough to know she’d be great at it). She took my advice, and in this new trailer for Murder at the Bad Girl’s Bar & Grill, she expounds on what makes a “bad girl,” and who gets to be one, from Joan of Arc to Madonna to Dwight Yoakam:

(And you’re thinking, Dwight Yoakam? It helps if you know that he optioned the film rights to Kelby’s previous novel, Whale Season, and is working on the screenplay with her again now that the strike’s over…)
