‘Captain Random House’ Gloats over ‘Evil Wylie’ in Twitter Satire

twitterlogo2323.jpgTwo literary superheros flew through the Twittersphere this summer–Captain Random House and EvilWylie.

Anonymous writers created these satirical Twitter feeds to represent the two sides in the now resolved dispute between Random House and the Wylie Agency over eBook royalties. As we reported this afternoon, Wylie all Random House titles have been removed from Wylie’s fledgling eBook imprint.

On Twitter, the Evil Wylie sulked (complete with a link to GalleyCat): “I can confirm this is true: @GoodRandomHouse and Andrew Wylie have publicly made up … Having lunch w/ BFF Lando Calrissian today and Boba Fett appeared and took 13 of my e-books into custody.”

In contrast, the Captain Random House gloated: “Here’s how I negotiated with @EvilWylie: I said ‘Here’s my offer on ebook royalties,’ then slid him a piece of paper that read ‘0%’ … We’re going to have the greatest party since Alfred Molina and the Chinese kid with the firecrackers in ‘Boogie Nights.'”
