Marvel to Publish the Deadpool the Duck Comic Series

Deadpool the Duck (GalleyCat)Marvel announced plans to publish a mash-up project entitled Deadpool the Duck. According to Comic Book Resources, This series will star a protagonist that combines the traits of two beloved comic book characters: Deadpool and Howard the Duck. The first of five issues will be released in January 2017.

Stuart Moore has been hired to write the story. Jacopo Camagni has signed on to create the illustrations. David Nakayama has come on board to design the cover art.

Moore sat for an interview with Marvel.com and shared his thoughts on the two characters: “Deadpool’s humor centers around violence, things blowing up, and slapstick. And Howard gives us humor that’s a little more character based and intellectual. When you put the two of them together, Deadpool seems like the more violent, nihilistic character, but he’s actually much happier – he likes what he does, he likes his job – whereas Howard always overthinks things.” (via Comics Alliance)
