Carolyn Cox has joined Open Road as editor of the Alt, the site’s upcoming community site for sci-fi and fantasy fans.
Cox comes to Open Road from Mary Sue, where she served as editor, writing articles on the likes of Tolkien poems and Star Trek. In her new role, Cox will report to senior editor Matthew Thompson.
In other human resources news, intern Daniel O’Connor is now a full-time marketing and publicity assistant at Open Road. In his new role, O’Connor will be tasked with publicity for all titles, managing the publisher’s social media pages and NetGalley accounts, as well as sending out galleys and analyzing data. He will report to vice president of marketing Mary McAveney.
