Booktrack, a tool designed for self-published writers and publishers to add soundtracks to their e-book, has released a collaborative novel and is also running a short story contest.
The collection is called Black Fang Betrayal and was written by 10 indie horror authors. J. Thorn led the project, writing the introduction and prompts for each writer, and then wrapped up the book. Using the same approach that he did for the book, Thorn has written three prompts for the short story competition. Readers must write a short story based on each prompt and then create a Booktrack.
The winner will receive five horror Booktracks, as well as a personal writing workshop with Thorn. The contest is open through Friday, Nov. 6 at 11:59 ET.
