Kate Winslet has agreed to take on the lead role in the Lee Miller biopic. In the past, Winslet (pictured, via) has taken on roles in several book-based projects including Divergent, The Reader, and Steve Jobs.
Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “Miller led a packed life, becoming a model as a teen then the muse and lover to artist Man Ray, moving in circles that included Pablo Picasso and Jean Cocteau. She became an art photographer, but during World War II became a pre-eminent war photographer for Vogue.”
According to Variety, the story for this film will be sourced from a biography written by Lee’s son, Antony Penrose, called The Lives of Lee Miller. At this point in time, the movie studio has not yet hired a director or a screenwriter.
