The book trailer has been unveiled for We Found a Hat. This project will be the third and final installment of Jon Klassen’s Hat-themed picture book trilogy.
The video embedded above offers a look at Klassen’s illustrations. Candlewick Press has scheduled the release date for October 11.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Klassen explained the role that the hat plays in his new story: “With this third book, the hat is too big on the two characters kind of on purpose. These characters are so sweet to each other most of the time, and they have this impulse to do this [hurtful] thing to each other, but it’s almost like the thing that the hat has come to represent is too big on them. This betrayal — or whatever it is that the other creatures have been capable of in the other books — these guys can’t do it to each other.” (via Jon Klassen’s tumblr page)
