WTHR, KNTV, KXAS Among Peabody Award Finalists

Indianapolis station WTHR just got the news that two of its stories are finalists for the 76th annual Peabody Awards. In addition, two NBC-owned stations, KNTV in San Jose/San Francisco/Oakland and KXAS in Dallas/Ft. Worth, are among the 10 finalists for Peabody Awards in the news category. (TVSpy)

Beyoncé’s visual album Lemonade and Donald Glover’s freshman FX series Atlanta were also among the finalists for the Peabodys. Other notable finalists this year include the first season of the Marvel-Netflix series Luke Cage, which stars Mike Colter as a man with superhuman strength and impenetrable skin, and Ava DuVernay’s Oscar-nominated documentary 13th, which explores racial issues within the U.S. prison system. Other finalists include Oscar-winning docu O.J.: Made In America, Emmy-winning comedy Veep, freshman FX comedy Better Things, breakout NBC drama This Is Us and Netflix drama Stranger Things. The winners will be honored May 20 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. (Deadline)
