Former Time Inc. PR guru Teri Everett is nearing a deal to become the new top corporate communications executive at Universal Pictures. She will replace Kori Bernards, who announced last week that she is leaving the company. (THR)

Everett will begin the new job on Aug. 17. She’ll be in charge of all worldwide external and internal communications for the company, overseeing media relations, executive and employee communications, as well as all box office reporting. (Variety)
