Twitter Continues Journalism, Media Push with Acquisition of Scroll

Twitter followed up January’s acquisition of newsletter publishing platform Revue with another foray into the world of journalists, publishers and writers, scooping up Scroll, which enables people to read articles without ads, popups and other distractions. (Adweek)

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Scroll had raised $10 million from investors including The New York Times, Samsung, Bertelsmann, Axel Springer, Union Square Ventures and Gannett. (Variety)

Twitter is working on building out a new kind of subscription plan that will include Scroll, Revue, and other homegrown Twitter services. (The Verge)
