As far as U.S. TV newsers go, CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil has a unique connection to Israel. Two of his children, along with his ex-wife (their mom), live in Israel, where heinous terrorist attacks perpetrated by Hamas started early Saturday morning. (TVNewser)

On his first CNN Monday morning editorial call, former BBC director-general and New York Times chief executive Mark Thompson remarked that the network’s coverage of the Hamas-Israel conflict has been “basically great.” (TVNewser)

Since Saturday, networks have been “scrambling”—in the words of one veteran television journalist—to get correspondents and producers to Israel to augment existing personnel or, in some cases, serve as lone representatives.
