Host Stephen Colbert’s opening monologue sparked the most conversation on Facebook during the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, while the most-tweeted-about moment was Elizabeth Moss winning the award for Best Lead Actress, Drama. (Adweek)

The second-most-tweeted moment was The Handmaid’s Tale’s win for Best Drama Series. In a surprise win, Moss’ co-star Ann Dowd won best supporting actress in a drama, which also became the No. 5 most-tweeted moment of the night. Coming in at No. 4 was This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown’s win for best lead actor in a drama series, while No. 5 was Black Mirror: San Junipero’s win for best TV movie. (THR)

Sean Spicer, on the other hand, received far less love from viewers online. The findings of the marketing tech company Amobee showed that between 5 p.m. PT and 11 p.m. PT, there were almost 82,000 tweets around Spicer. Those tweets were found to be 12 percent positive, 31 percent neutral and 57 percent negative. Influencer tech company Influential also found Spicer was largely responsible for a net shift of 3 percent in negative sentiment compared to last year’s ceremony. (Variety)

The final numbers find the telecast matching its worst audience numbers ever. In the key demo, the Colbert-hosted ceremony had it worst result ever. With 11.38 million viewers tuning in, the show was even with last year’s installment on ABC, which was the all-time low. The 2016 show was down 5 percent from the 2015 edition, which was the previous low. (Deadline)

The telecast also averaged a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49, dropping below last year’s low point of a 2.8. (Variety)
