President Trump’s much-teased interview with ABC was not the ratings bonanza the numbers-obsessed president likely would have wanted. The hourlong special with ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos came in third in its timeslot Sunday night, notching 3.91 million viewers according to ratings aggregator TV by the Numbers. The final round of the U.S. Open golf championship on Fox drew 6.6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 from 7:30-10 p.m. ET, pending updates, leading the other broadcast nets by a sizable margin. The 18-49 rating peaked from 9-9:30 p.m. with a 1.7. (THR / Live Feed)

ABC’s special also could not compete with CBS’ 60 Minutes, which came in at 4.67 million viewers. ABC News anchor David Muir nabbed the first prime-time interview with Trump after his inauguration in 2017, which notched 7.5 million viewers. (Mediaite)
