Showtime Orders Season 3 of The Circus Minus Mark Halperin, Plus Alex Wagner

By Christine Zosche

The Circus has survived. Showtime made it official Wednesday morning, announcing it had ordered a third season of the docu series, which will be divvied up, so a run of new episodes will air in the spring and another in the fall. (Deadline)

CBS News anchor Alex Wagner is joining John Heilemann and Mark McKinnon on the political series. (Mediaite)

Wagner will replace Halperin, who was axed from the show amid sexual harassment allegations. Circus will return with new episodes on April 15. The other batch of episodes will arrive in the fall, focusing on the mid-term elections. (Variety)
