Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings achieved a major milestone on Friday when hitting $186.8 million in domestic ticket sales, the highest gross of the pandemic-era despite the challenges posed by the delta variant. The record previously belonged to fellow Marvel title Black Widow, which topped out at $183.4 million in North America. (THR / Heat Vision)

It’s also passed The Incredible Hulk ($132 million in 2008), Captain America ($176 million in 2011), Ant-Man ($180 million in 2015) and Thor ($181 million in 2011). (Forbes)

Shang-Chi had no trouble staying atop domestic charts, even in its fourth weekend of release. The Disney and Marvel superhero adventure added a solid $13.3 million in ticket sales, bringing its domestic tally to $196.5 million, a pandemic record. (Variety)
