Reena Ninan Named Anchor of World News Now, America This Morning

Reena Ninan has been named co-anchor of America This Morning and World News Now, ABC News announced Wednesday morning. Ninan joins former CNN anchor T.J. Holmes at the anchor desk. (TVNewser)

She’s been filling in since June. The former Fox News Channel Middle East correspondent joined ABC News in 2012. (Deadline)

Ninan will also report across the network and on its digital platforms. It’s been a good week for ABC: on Tuesday, it was revealed the network’s evening newscast, World News Tonight With David Muir, broke NBC Nightly News’ five-year total viewers winning streak. (TheWrap)

The 35-year-old Ninan began her career at ABC News in 2012 as a correspondent in the Washington, D.C., bureau. Her reporting included traveling with President Obama to Asia and with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to the Middle East.
