NYPD Reportedly Ready to Arrest Harvey Weinstein

The NYPD is prepared to collar Harvey Weinstein for felony sexual assault, a police official with direct knowledge of the case said. The NYPD is awaiting only a nod from Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance. (Daily Beast)

“We are still accumulating evidence,” chief of detectives Robert Boyce said. “It’s going very, very well. We have a lot of information. We have a lot of information that we handed over to the grand jury. I would ask you to talk to Cy Vance,” he added. (New York Daily News)

Per the Daily Beast, the NYPD is investigating one “particularly strong” claim that has been reported in a media outlet (the police department does not name sex-crime victims) and has spoken to actresses Lucia Evans and Paz de la Huerta. (Vanity Fair / HWD)

Additionally, The Weinstein Co. is preparing for a bankruptcy filing next week by seeking “stalking horse” bids that would set a floor for a bankruptcy auction. Several bidders reached out after the surprise collapse on Tuesday of a $500 million deal to sell the company to billionaire Ron Burkle and his partners. (Variety)
