Nexstar Closes on $4.6 Billion Media General Buy

Nexstar Broadcasting Group has completed its acquisition of Media General valued at $4.6 billion. The station group also says it has divested itself of 13 stations for a total of $548 million. (TVSpy)

The company is now the No. 2 independent station owner, with 171 full-power outlets in 100 markets, including 15 of the top 50. The group reaches nearly 39 percent of U.S. households. (Deadline)
