NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Telecast Tops 25 Million Viewers, Dips from 2020

NBC’s coverage of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade drew a total of 25.4 million total viewers and a 6.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic on Thursday across the live broadcast and encore immediately after, according to Nielson fast national data from NBC. (Deadline)

That was slightly below the turnout of 25.9 million viewers for both telecasts in 2020, when the parade was produced only for TV because of Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the dip, NBC noted that the 25.4 million live-same-day viewers ranks as the network’s most-watched entertainment telecast since the 2020 Macy’s parade. (Variety)

The 2021 National Dog Show followed Santa Claus’ parade arrival, and fetched 11.2 million total viewers to go along with its 2.8 demo rating from noon to 2 p.m. That was down some from last year (11.3 million viewers, 3.4 demo rating). (TheWrap)
